ISLAND OF WILLCOX WINE:

Arizona’s Cochise and Graham counties, in the extreme southeast of the state, are home to an area and association of farm wineries and vineyards known as Willcox Wine Country. 74% of Arizona’s wine grapes are grown in the Willcox region, which also produces the state’s highest-rated wines according to Wine Spectator, the San Francisco Chronicle, tastings.com, and the Arizona Republic.

The region is officially designated as a distinct and one-of-a-kind wine producing zone in the United States since it contains the Willcox AVA (American Viticultural Area). The semi-annual Willcox Wine Country Festival, held in May and October, has been named by Fodor’s Travel as one of the top ten wine festivals in North America. It includes ten tasting rooms, tours, locally grown and produced wines, and locally created wines. Visit www.willcoxwinecountry.org for further details.

WHAT HORSES’ HELP IS:

Horses Help uses people and horses to enhance the quality of life for the special needs and at-risk community.

Our goal is to provide the special needs community with a therapeutic and recreational equine environment where volunteers and cooperative efforts of like-minded organisations can design, build, and implement unique animal assisted opportunities while upholding the highest industry standards, while also fostering the professional growth of its participants, therapists, instructors, staff, and volunteers, ensuring the organization’s growth and diversity. Please visit www.horseshelp.org for additional details.

Information about Willcox City

The City of Willcox is the historic, cultural, and economic centre of far southeast Arizona, located in the Willcox Wine Country area.

A small rural community supporting local farms, orchards, vineyards, and ranches in a vast area of high-altitude basins and mountain ranges, Willcox was first established as a railroad terminal in 1880. The Chiricahua National Monument, the Coronado National Forest, the Willcox Wine Country, and the Ft. Bowie National Historic Site are all accessible from Willcox.
