Beginner hunters are invited to a free pheasant hunt on private property near Cedar City, hosted by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife.
SFW is giving the birds so that even inexperienced hunters have a better shot at bagging a pheasant.
Requirements:
To take part, either you must be under the age of 17 or a first-time hunter with no more than three years of experience.
Only fifty participants will be allowed on the search (25 per session). Those interested in going hunting must pre-register.
Each hunter needs to show proof that they have either taken a hunter education course or are enrolled in a trial hunting programme.
Moreover, they need to be in possession of a valid hunting or combination licence.
Anyone taking part must purchase a ticket and complete the accompanying waiver. This comprises all novice hunters, dog handlers, observers, and assistance who will be staying at the event to provide transportation. Only those who have purchased tickets and read and agreed to the terms of the online waiver will be admitted to the event.

If you want to get in a quick safety briefing and spread out before the shooting starts, you should get there at least 30 minutes early for your hunt. The huntsman in charge of the party will guide you there.
Meetings will be held in the morning at 8 a.m. (please come by 7:30 a.m.) and in the afternoon at 1 p.m. (arrive by 12:30 p.m.).
All hikers, regardless of age, are required to don fluorescent hunter orange.

Please don’t bring untrained dogs or canines that aren’t accustomed to hunting upland game. When hunting, dogs should be allowed to roam free, but their handlers are responsible for keeping them under control or removing them from the area if they become a safety or quality issue.
