A charity stroll through the renowned Newport News Celebration in Lights takes place on one night only as part of the Holiday Light Stroll hosted by Langley Federal Credit Union. It is a fundraiser for the Center for Child & Family Services, a non-profit provider of family services in the area. Since 2014, the Center for Child & Family Services has organized the Holiday Light Stroll, with all earnings going to the Center’s activities and services. The walk has been taking place for more than 20 years. Since 1943, the Center for Child & Family Services has provided assistance to families and children on the Peninsula and its neighboring areas. We have been serving the community for more than 76 years as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
All proceeds from the Center’s Holiday Light Stroll support the more than 20 programs we provide to the community, such as services to prevent domestic violence, youth anger management, and gang prevention, support services for youth aging out of foster care, job readiness services for youth and adults, to those with employment barriers, mental health counseling, supervised visitation, consumer credit counseling services, including debt management, financial literacy, and mental health counseling.
Our locations in Hampton and Williamsburg provide services to the whole Virginia Peninsula and its neighboring towns. Your ticket purchase will enable the Center to provide individuals with the tools they need to meet life’s difficulties. All sales are in favor of the Center for Child & Family Services.
