About Making a Rose Workshop
Participate in a workshop series led by Luisa Cortado to promote health and combat loneliness in areas around the library.
Teaching the traditional skill of Cartapesta Laccase and Luisa’s unique method of rose-making have formed the backbone of the Making a Rose program. The term “C artiest” refers to the paper maccha technique, while “Leccese” indicates that the technique was developed in the city of Lecce in southern Italy during the 18th century.
Participants in this enjoyable session may unwind and concentrate as they create their own unique roses via a process of shredding, gluing, and sculpting paper.
