Arizona’s Cochise and Graham counties, in the extreme southeast of the state, are home to an area and association of farm wineries and vineyards known as Willcox Wine Country. 74% of Arizona’s wine grapes are grown in the Willcox region, which also produces the state’s highest-rated wines according to Wine Spectator, the San Francisco Chronicle,, and the Arizona Republic.

The region is officially designated as a distinct and one-of-a-kind wine producing zone in the United States since it contains the Willcox AVA (American Viticultural Area). The semi-annual Willcox Wine Country Festival, held in May and October, has been named by Fodor’s Travel as one of the top ten wine festivals in North America. It includes ten tasting rooms, tours, locally grown and produced wines, and locally created wines. Visit for further details.

Information about Willcox City

The City of Willcox is the historic, cultural, and economic centre of far southeast Arizona, located in the Willcox Wine Country area.

A small rural community supporting local farms, orchards, vineyards, and ranches in a vast area of high-altitude basins and mountain ranges, Willcox was first established as a railroad terminal in 1880. The Chiricahua National Monument, the Coronado National Forest, the Willcox Wine Country, and the Ft. Bowie National Historic Site are all accessible from Willcox.
