About Broadway’s Next Hit Musical

The Phony Awards, a totally improvised comic awards presentation in the manner of a Broadway musical, will return to 54 Below on Friday, October 14 after two previous sold-out performances. On Sunday, January 15th, and Wednesday, November 16th, BNHM will play at 54 Below.

What happens when the Tony Awards and “Whose Line is it Anyway?” collide is an unforgettable evening of spontaneous music and audience participation. Broadway’s Gary Adler, composer of Altar Boyz and music director of Avenue Q and Next to Normal, among many others, utilizes YOUR made-up song names to improvise three songs, complete with lyrics, melodies, and choreography. After casting your vote, you’ll be treated to an improvised musical including the winning song from the Phony Award competition. There’s a place called 54 Below down at 254 West 54th Street (Cellar). Exact showtime is 9:30 PM on Friday, October 14. The event begins at 9:00 p.m. Standard tickets are $45–$55, VIP tickets are $55, and premium tickets are $80. We ask that you you spend at least $25 on food and drink.
