A ticket is required for admission. There will be no ticket sales at the door. A garden gate keeper will request that you show them your ticket upon entry.
Each day between 2:00 and 5:30, visitors with a valid daily ticket may enter the attraction. The Gardens shut at 6:00 p.m.

All bookings must be made in advance via the website to ensure the guests’ safety. There will be no in-person or over-the-phone bookings available. The scanning of tickets is required for admission.

All guests who have been properly immunised are welcome to visit the Gardens without a face mask, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Anyone who hasn’t been vaccinated yet, or who is currently being vaccinated, must have their mask on at all times.
As an extra precaution, our garden guards will continue to wear masks at all times.

Dumbarton Oaks Gardens COVID Precautions, 2019:
The number of guests is restricted.
There are no facilities, such as restrooms or drinking fountains. If you leave the Gardens, you won’t be able to get back in, so make your plans appropriately.
The Gardens are equipped with hand sanitizer stations. Always remember to wash your hands after using the restroom.
Workers must wear protective gear and use hand sanitizer or wash their hands often during the day.
Here are certain rules that all guests must follow:
If necessary, always keep your mouth and nose covered with a mask (as described above).
Maintain a distance of at least six feet from other guests.
Don’t bring anything to eat or drink. In the Gardens, you may only bring water.
No re-entry to the Gardens will be allowed.
Don’t let crime strike in the Gardens. If you have had recent close contact with someone with COVID-19 or COVID symptoms, are presently under isolation or quarantine orders, or are feeling sick and/or experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, please refrain from visiting Dumbarton Oaks. If you get well, come back and see us!

We will shut the Gardens if weather conditions make it dangerous to remain open. Gardens policy is that if the Gardens remain open in poor weather, tickets cannot be returned or exchanged. In the event that the Gardens are closed, we will notify you through Eventbrite and provide a full refund.
