All kinds of birds, including cormorants, herons, tufted ducks, and even nesting common terns, may be seen at Leg o’ Mutton since it is a protected Local Nature Reserve.

Nighttime is a great time to observe and listen to the local fauna.

The BCL’s Conservation Officer and resident bat specialist, Will Scott-Mends, invites you on a stroll around the reservoir. With his guidance, you may be able to use bat detectors to pick up the sounds of foraging bats after dark.

Even though we anticipate a beautiful summer evening, the weather may change at any moment, so we ask that you come prepared with suitable clothing and sturdy footwear.

In the case of very rainy weather, this event may be called off at short notice.

We regret that owing to the site’s tight confines, advance reservations are required for all visitors.

The enormous gate at the reservoir’s southern end, on the river side, is where we’ll meet.

Yes, all IDs will be examined at the gate, no exceptions. If you are under the age of 21, please do not purchase a ticket.
