About Goat Hikes at Simmons Farm

The goats at Simmons Farm invite you to take a stroll across our picturesque pastures at any time of year. As they lead you across our beautiful farm, take advantage of your Caprine friend’s companionship. Enjoy spending time in nature and its basic pleasures.

The goats will amble around, pausing frequently to graze on anything that is still delicious and green all around them. It is a fantastic way to spend time outside and socialise with both people and goats!

We provide incredibly enjoyable Goat walks both during the week and on the weekends in an effort to make our visitors’ experiences fun and exciting. Join us for an hour and a half-long goat ramble around the historic Simmons Farm, led by Farmer Karla or Farmer Aidan, along with their band of mischievous, lovable goats.

Each participant will receive a goat that they can control with a leash. Along the journey, there will be breaks where you can give the goats a snack.

Your farmer will be fully attentive to you the entire time, so feel free to ask any and all questions you have about Simmons Farm, farming in New England, the life of a farmer, or anything else you like.

We will meander through wide-open fields, pass a bubbling river, and provide you with stunning views of Narragansett Bay from the farm’s highest point, known as the Vista.

Our amusing flock of barnyard bird friends, the ducks and chicks, will be there to welcome you upon arrival. We will also visit our pig friends, peep in on our herd of belted Galloway cows, fondly known as the Oreo cookie cows, and visit our pig friends.

Since we will be walking across farms and pastures, please wear closed-toed shoes. As the temperature rises, it might be a good idea to pack a bottle of water (we do sell some in the farmstand), apply sunscreen, and spray on some bug repellent before you go.

Dress warmly if you’re joining us in the winter. Terrible gear is the only thing that makes bad weather exist!

I suggest that families with little kids, five or under, only bring one goat along for the hike. You and your kids will both find it more fun. Little kids and goats equal wrestling greasy piglets Lots of fun and hugs with 1 goat. The group’s additional hikers must acquire a hike only ticket if they are 10 years of age or older.

You are welcome to buy as many general admission tickets as you like; this is just my recommendation. Since everyone hikes in unison, even those with hike-only tickets are encircled by goats!

I appreciate you very much, and I’m forward to hike with you.

If you can’t make it or the weather is terrible, you will receive a credit to use whenever you like; there are no refunds on tickets.

We’ll either warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or cool off with a cup of lemonade when we go back to the farm stand. (Relative to the season)

I’m eager to go hiking with you!
