“What I believe we are seeing today is younger generations (late millennial/Gen Zs) are adopting these more and more because the musicians they support embrace those types of music, and this is a trend we should expect to continue. Take a look at the current singles on the charts, for instance. Harry Styles’ “As It Was” has a riff that is very similar to A-famous ha’s single from the 1980s, “Take On Me,” and Dua Lipa’s most recent album has a very 80s feel to it. ”.
Artists from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s are taking centre stage at Back 2 Festival ’22. The variety of genres, which include garage, clubland, and pop, draws a wide range of listeners. The LGBTQIA+ venue, The Nightingale Club, has also selected a portion of the lineup, which includes a queer party and resident drag artists. The goal of Back 2 Festival is to create an environment that is as varied and inclusive as it is nostalgic.
