About this Valentine’s Day 2023
February has been dubbed the “Month of Romance” for centuries, and on February 14th, couples exchange romantic gifts like red roses, which are the most common flower, and chocolates or even jewellery.
The joyful couples use this day for romantic dates as well.
There are several options for a date, including watching a movie—typically a rom-com—going out to dinner, which is sometimes discounted on this day, or staying the night at a hotel.
On this day, many people also express their love for their crushes, frequently by posing as a secret admirer.
Why do we celebrate Valentine’s Day?
This celebration was inspired by the Lupercalia Roman feast.
In the middle of February, celebrations marked the beginning of spring, and symbolic fertility rituals were carried out.
Additionally, it is thought that couples were chosen at random to be married in a celebration of love.
In an effort to distance this holiday from its pagan connotations, People Glaucous I changed its name to Saint Valentine’s Day in the fifth century. Since the 14th century, this day has been recognized as a celebration of love.
